Joshua obtained his PhD in Applied Science and Technology [Applied Chemistry] and MS in Chemistry from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and BSc. in Chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. His previous PhD work prior to joining CPNE involves employing multiple analytical techniques including the use of nanoparticles in profiling metabolites in natural products. His interest is in understanding the pattern of structural motifs of connexin proteins during mutagenesis and to track the motifs that contribute to hemichannel docking by NMR-active isotopes (stable/radioactive), fluorescent dyes or DNA/mRNA tagging and to provide unique information about the structure and dynamics of these proteins and their interactions with other molecules at the atomic level directly in the cellular environment. Joshua is a strong advocate for volunteerism, and thus uses his spare time teaching undergraduate and high school students General Chemistry and Physical Science in his county of residence. When not in lab, Joshua enjoys backyard farming, fishing, discovering new and historical places, and listening to folktales from his daughter and sons.
